FUNDRAISING FOR TREATMENT AND A HOME

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Ngoga Augustin, most people call me Papy.. I am the third born in a family of 7 siblings from Gisenyi, Rubavu district (Rwanda). although 6 of us are left since our eldest brother died due to severe general dystonia , which is a condition that affects your muscles, causing them to contract involuntarily and repeatedly (severe muscle spasms). This disease began by attacking our eldest brother, then our father and soon after that, my sister, as well as another brother of mine. At the moment, our father also died due to this condition, our mother died as well soon after that as she succumbed to liver failure. My siblings are currently under my care since I am the only one that has not been affected by this disease, but it has also been extremely difficult for me and for us.

Our eldest brother was born in 1978 and was diagnosed with essential tremor disorder and general dystonia in 1991 when he was just 14 years of age. he died in 2005. Dad was infected in 1993 and died 22 years later in 2015. These two siblings of mine that you are seeing, my brother and sister, are all that I have left and they have spent 15 years with this condition and have been surviving on medication to help ease the severe symptoms and the pain day by day.

Our story was posted on YouTube  by a good Samaritan so as to get some help from well-wishers because life has been extremely difficult for us, we managed to get some little help here and there to push us on a daily basis, as some others offered some adult diapers, foodstuffs, and some old clothing. as I had to find someone that could take care of them so that I could go and look for work so as to try and keep sustaining my people to the best of my ability. but it has not been easy for me, especially during this pandemic period. God blessed us recently and as we speak, the Government of Rwanda was able to donate a plot of land to us, so as to facilitate us and reduce on the cost of rent which has been one of my biggest challenges and I have been trying to find a way to build a small house and have a place we can call "Home" because I am struggling with rent payment and arrears as well as having to shift every frequently while taking care of my siblings 24/7. I have come to learn and accept that sadly, there is no cure for this condition and continuous treatment has been the only way, but very costly especially here due to our inadequate health system with costly medication. I got to know about GoFundMe from a friend of the family, Justin Ruvimba who is currently living in the united kingdom and told me about this platform that could be of help to us. We would like to raise 50,000 £  (Fifty thousand pounds) so that we can construct a house on the piece of land that was given
to us by the government, which is going to save us from the predicament of renting and whatever will be left shall go towards treatment and sustaining my loved ones. I therefore appeal to any well-wishers and good Samaritans out there to please help with whatever small amount they can spare for us to be able to overcome this plight, and put a smile on my siblings' faces. I hope this message finds you well, may God bless you all!
