3D printers to make face shields for Heights Area

Donation protected
Our inspiration:  Every face shield may save a life.

The Cleveland Heights HS Robotics Club has been making face shields for local healthcare workers and other essential workers who put themselves at risk of Covid-19 while serving the Heights community.

A team of families and teachers collaborate with division of labor.  Activities include 3D printing, materials acquisition, distribution of materials, full shield assembly and distribution of finished shields.

So far, more than 50 shields have been distributed. The nurses have been so grateful!  60 more are in the assembly pipeline, unfortunately one printer has broken.  The broken printer is slowing down output.

We are looking to purchase several additional 3D printers and supplies to make as many face shields as we can. We need funds immediately in order to increase our output.

After the need for face shields has been met, the extra supplies and 3D printers will be donated to the Heights High School Engineering program to further help the Heights community and give opportunities to future students.

Here is a local story about our effort. Heights HS news story

If you know a Robotics team member, feel free to reach out directly rather than through this page so that we can actually buy a printer on April 26, 2020 to get back producing again.

Thank you.
