Help replace our 1969 Fire Truck

Greetings from Churchill, Canada: Polar Bear Capital of the World.


     We are a small tourist town who's population fluctuates between 800 and 3,000 people. Our fire department, manned 100% by local volunteers is working hard to raise the funds for a new pumper.

      Brand new pumpers can cost anywhere from $250,000 -$500,000, we realize this is not realistic but we have located a very reliable used truck for $100,000. This 'new to us' pumper will be used for many, many years. Fire trucks have a 25year expiry date and our 1969 GMC pumper is pushing 50yrs! It's older than 21 out of our 22 members of our department! It wouldn't be cost effective for us to continue repairing and put more money into the expired truck.

     Currently we continue to use the 1969GMC pumper, it's days are however, beyond out numbered and we've set a goal to purchase a replacement pumper within the next year. Our GoFund Me goal is to raise $50,000 to help us purchase a newer pumper.
