Our lifelong identity, values, and behaviors develop at a young age, around ages 10 to 17. During this time, young Eritreans are also often navigating their Eritrean and American cultural identities. The founders of Eritrean Youth Mentorship Program realized that not many Eritrean programs target this important age group, and decided to create EYMP in 2018.
The Eritrean Youth Mentorship Program provides a space for youth, parents, and young adults to mentor and learn from each other, fostering stronger relationships within the Eritrean community. Our programs provide Eritrean youth with role models that can help them navigate school, career goals, friends, culture, and many other challenges of adolescence. We do this through individual mentoring, group mentoring, and community building events.
As you can imagine, many resources go into putting our events and programming together. We rely solely on the support of our community to keep our organization running, and we’d love nothing more than to continue getting our community together.
Help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 by the end of the year!!
100% of donations go to supporting our programming and events. The funding will help us continue to organize monthly group mentoring/community building events for the community and also manage +20 mentor/mentee matches each year.
Donations to EYMP are now tax deductible under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. When you contribute to our cause, you not only make a positive impact on our mission but also receive a tax benefit for your generosity. Please consider donating!
