The World Charity Foundation, Inc is a non-profit
organization registered in the State of Maryland and approved by the IRS
501 (c) (3).
The Mission of the organization is primarily to assist people who are facing eviction from their homes avoid being homeless. This mission makes it unique because while most non-profits that assist the homeless either run homeless shelters or food banks, the World Charity Foundation, Inc does not run homeless shelters or food banks. We try to help people who are facing eviction which otherwise would have made them homeless stay in their homes by giving them one-three months rental assistance. During that time we also provide them means to buy groceries and look for jobs, which is vital in making them self-reliant again. Most people who are homeless did not want to be homeless. They may have lost their jobs, or have very serious family or personal crisis. We look out for such people who are at their breaking point. Our programs benefit those who are in very desperate situations.
A typical beneficiary family would receive about $1000.00-$2000.00 while an individual will receive about $750.00-$1,500.00, in a1-3 month's period. Each year we target about 1000 families and individuals who would benefit from our programs, in the USA.
Another important mission we have is assisting the remote villages of the third world countries, with clean drinking water, mosquito nets, school children uniforms, and other school materials.
People in the regions we target normally drink water from slums and ditches that normally cause them diseases like cholera, guinea worm, yellow fever etc, to mention a few. As we assist such communities, we also give them mosquito nets to prevent malaria. Our goal is to assist about 5000 people each year, approximately about 5 communities of 1000 people each, including the school children.
The World Charity Foundation, Inc is an agency for United Way of the National Capital Area, USA. We help to carry out the mission of the United Way which is to give humanitarian services any way we can. The World Charity Foundation, Inc is also a member of the Maryland Non Profit Association.
We would want to raise enough money to carry out our mission. What we do is publicly accounted for. As a public non-profit organization, the IRS publishes our financial statements every year in their website for the public to see; for more information go to www.irs.gov.
