Medical Missions Trip to Honduras.

Donation protected
Family and Friends,
As many of you may know, this summer I have been given the opportunity to attend a medical missions trip to Santa Rosa, Honduras with some of my fellow VCOM student doctors. I have been extremely blessed with such an opportunity and look forward to being able to help the undeserved abroad. I believe that my encounters on this trip will be life changing and positively influential in my medical education. When thinking of a medical missions trip to Honduras, many of you may be imaging people who are suffering from malnutrition, tropical and water borne diseases, infections, parasitic diseases, and AIDS, all of which are preventable and commonly found in tropical regions of the world. However, alongside these same images I would like to leave you with one of a greater importance: Humanity working together. I hope you can picture smiling individuals comforted by volunteers and physicians who are not only there to educate persons and treat illness, but also to comfort and uplift the morale of those who need it most.
Our specific trip to Honduras will focus on primary care as well as emergency medicine, including advanced trauma and life support traning (ATLS). Not only will myself and other students be learning these skills, but also,we will be helping teach these same critical health skills to the people of Santa Rosa.
A trip such as this can be costly and I am hoping that you are able to help me with this financial burden. Funding will go towards airfare, supplies, food and lodging.
I thank you in advance for your generosity, and any little bit helps!

Be sure and check back for pictures after the trip =) Also, there is some information below on VCOM medical missions trips.

Thanks again, Arah Bredenbeck
