For a few years now, The Lord has been weaving into my heart dreams of serving the poor. I feel a call on my life to be with His beloved ones who need to be told their worth and hear the Gospel of grace.
By the Fall of 2017, I will be living, growing, and serving in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco with an organization called City Impact as a student in their School of Ministry (learn more here https://youtu.be/i85akUW6cbA).
The Tenderloin District is 300 times more crowded than the rest of San Francisco. In less than one square mile it contains 37,000 residents living in 586 low income apartment buildings. 26% of the residents live below the poverty line making it the highest crime rate area in San Francisco and totaling three major crimes per hour. In addition to the residents, the city's 6,000 homeless come through the Tenderloin daily (learn more here https://youtu.be/gt4kHWFBO5w).
I'm reaching out to my friends & family for help along the way. The total cost of the school comes out to $5,400. That money will cover the costs of tuition, food, and other living expenses during my nine months in The Bay Area (September 2017 - May 2018).
