33 single mom stage 3 breast cancer

Tanisha is a single mother of five, two of which who are adopted ages 18- 14 months. Tanisha is always the one who does for others before doing for herself. Her kids are in sports, so she is always running around to get the kids to their various events. On top of that, she is always willing to step in and help family and friends. On December 4th, after experiencing pain and finding a lump under her right armpit and breast, she found out that she had breast cancer. Initially, she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, but within a matter of 2 weeks, it had aggressively increased to stage 3. If you can imagine this was a life-changing event. At this time, she had her own business as a day-care provider, but after the diagnosis, she was unable to keep up with the demand of the business and made the decision to close it down. Throughout her multiple doctors’ appointments and treatments, she has always remained positive. She never let the struggles of her day to day activities get her down. She would go to chemotherapy and still take the kids to football practice or drill team practice. When you ask her how she is doing or how she is feeling her response is, “I’m doing good.” She does not complain nor allows her situation to get her down.

To date, she has recently completed chemotherapy after 16 rounds and awaiting her surgery in July. The operation will be a double mastectomy followed by reconstructive surgery. After recovery from surgery, she will then have to proceed with a minimum of 25 rounds of radiation.

Due to the costs of treatments, surgeries, and medical bills piling up, we are raising $30,000. The fund will go towards medical bills, medication, housing, utilities, and the household needs. Tanisha is always the person blessing others, and we are looking to support her and help lessen the stress.
