HELP MY FAMILY BACK ON THEIR FEET
Beschermde donatie
Hello Everyone,
I’m reaching out to you because our family is in desperate need of financial help due to two family tradegies that happened this past year and that we are still struggling with to this day. For those of you that know my husband and me, we would never ask for financial help because we both have good jobs and believe in working hard to pay our way through life.
But on January 28th, my son Justin got in a terrible truck accident that left him in critical condition. The hospital put him in an induced coma because he had so many injuries; including: traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries with tremendous amount of swelling, multiple fractures to his hip, shoulders, neck and spine. Justin ended up having his head cut open (bone flap removed) to help drain the fluid and pressure in his brain. Then he had two surgeries on his neck to replace a bone and fix two others. Once that healed, he had another surgery to replace the bone flap (scull) to his head.
Since my son’s accident, he’s been in the hospital for 6 months now trying to recuperate from all his injuries, swelling and surgeries. Three months ago, doctors told us Justin probably won’t be able to walk again and will be a paraplegic for the rest of his young life. That was such devastating news for our family, especially for Justin.
Currently, Justin is in a rehab facility an hour from home working diligently with his Physical Therapists in hopes of building up his muscles to regain all movement in his upper and lower body so he’s able to walk again and not be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Needless to say, he has a LONG recovery ahead of him! We are hoping with many continued prayers and through God’s will, Justin WILL be able to walk again someday.
Five weeks after my son was stable, my husband Bob and I went back to work but still visiting our son at the hospital throughout the week and taking care of his needs.
Then another tragedy happened to our family on April 25, 2018. My husband Bob went into Liver failure and was in the hospital for almost a month. At this point, I was struggling to take care of both my husband and son; since they were at two different hospitals, and trying to keep up with paying the bills (both regular and medical) since we didn’t have any money coming in for a total of 14 weeks. Bob is now stable and back home, but doctors are saying he’ll need to have a liver transplant to live a normal healthy life. Currently, we’re unsure when he’ll get the liver transplant and if he’ll ever be able to go back to work again.
With all the medical bills piled up and still coming in and both my son and husband not working, we don’t have enough money to pay all the bills.
We are graciously asking if you could support our GoFundMe by making a donation and then sharing it with your network. I know that money can be tight, so please know that even $5 helps us get closer to our goal!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support!
With love and gratitude,
The Zimmermans
