Hanging baskets and planters for Danestone
Donation protected
Colourful hanging baskets and planters for the Danestone community to enjoy.
With Spring on the horizon and to brighten up our neighbourhood after these long winter months, we would love to add to our spring bulbs, by adding wooden planters and hanging baskets filled with colourful summer plants and flowers.
In order to achieve this, we need to raise funds by donations from individuals and local businesses. It would really take a big community effort and we would be hugely grateful for any support that we receive.
There are seven lamp posts going up the hill from the junction off Laurel Drive onto Fairview Street which are suitable to attach hanging baskets. New permanent fitting attachments are required which, along with two baskets supplied and maintained by the council during the summer months, come in at around £200 each.
In addition, we would like to introduce planters which will be made by the Bridge of Don Men's Shed on the grass verge off Laurel Drive to Fairview Street, with a further planter at the junction between Fairview Street and Gordon Brae Road (near Balgownie playing fields). So far, the quote is £35 for planters made out of wooden pallets. There will be a further £20 required for plants and soil for each.
After such a bleak winter, wouldn't it be wonderful to see Danestone come into bloom? Thank you so much for considering donating.
