This summer, Zion Care International has afforded me the opportunity to provide dental care and education in Kingston, Jamaica. An experience such as this will allow me to further establish my footing in the realm of public health, an area of dentistry that I have a great passion for. Additionally, it supports the integration of knowledge that I have gained in my first two years of dental school into clinical skills, which will play a vital role in my final years of schooling. It can be difficult to find spaces that promotes education and servitude in the field of dentistry and for this reason I plan to fully embrace the opportunity that has been presented. It is my hope that my family, friends, and supporters alike will help to support me in my efforts to serve the underserved while further developing my skill-set in dental care.
