Help me and my family evacuate Gaza
I'm making this fundraiser for my dear friend Naim in Gaza and this is his message to the world:
"Hi, I'm Naim Abu-Sultan, a final-year medical student studying in Egypt at Alexandria University, and I recently went to Gaza to visit my family during the summer holiday. Sadly, the war started in the middle of my visit and I've been stuck there for four months now. During the war, I volunteered at Al-Aqsa Hospital (Orthopaedics Department) for two months and a primary care clinic for a month, both of which made me witness the suffering and misery of hundreds of patients there who couldn't get sufficient care because of the lack of equipment and staff.
Imagine this: you're doing your volunteering at the hospital at night during the war and then a group of people get admitted to the hospital following a big explosion that killed about 20 people. So, you go and check on them and you find your whole family covered in injuries. How would you feel? That big shock sadly happened to me just two days ago and it was the worst day of my life. At that time, my uncle (my mother's brother) was admitted with severe injuries and was on the verge of death. He later died right in front of my eyes . My sister was barely pulled out of the rubble at the last minute. As you would imagine, that deeply and negatively impacted my mental health and my mother's as well. I've attached a picture showing my family above for you to see.
So far, our house has been bombed, we lost all of our belongings, the place we evacuated to was bombed as well, and there is no safe place to go. There is no exaggeration when I say that the situation in Gaza is beyond the darkest imagination. The danger of death surrounds us from all sides at all times. Anyone can die at any second.
We want to live safely like every human being without being afraid to die literally any second. So, I beg you: Please help us evacuate this hell so that we can recover from the trauma, and so that I can continue my medical studies and become a doctor."
