For my Sister
Spende geschützt
This is for Sarah....
I wanted to take the time to tell a story, one that I haven't told to many, a story about a true fighter, one that fights a battle not to many of us can even fathom.... A young girl was born into this world on March 28th 1975, she was growing up to be bright, smart, and beautiful. She was a go getter from the ripe young age of 4 1/2 always trying to be the mom to her younger brother. She was athletic, driven and love to be around her friends and family. As she reached her early teens she was telling the world she was going to be a Doctor who delivered babies! It was obvious that God had a plan for this little girl, but it wasn't what we might have thought.. Shortly after turning 12 this young girl started to get a cough, one that most parents would go to the store to get over the counter cough syrup and call it a day. Unfortunately this cough wouldn't go away... Doctor after doctor she was told the same thing, its just a common cough, or, its the wind and dust where we live.. She will be fine.. So this young girl continued on with her life as if nothing bothered her. She went on to high school where she lettered in cheerleading, basketball and volleyball. But at the end of sophomore year the once simple cough was much more than what anyone could have expected. She was having issues to the point of coughing up blood to loosing her breathe walking to the kitchen. Fast forward to 10 years later and 5 lung surgeries to remove infected lung tissue, this young woman NEVER let this sickness stop her from doing anything she wanted to do... She went to college, she went on to an amazing career as a GM for a very large restaurant Franchise. In December of 2015 she married the greatest man I have ever known. Not only does this man love her unconditionally, but he is patient, kind, loving and truly loves her more than a brother or father could ever ask of a man for their Sister/Daughter. I am sure by now most of you know who I am talking about.. this is my sister Sarah Preston (Gage). Early 2017 she was finally diagnosed with CF (Cystic fibrosis). We have battled right along side of my sister fighting this now terminal illness. As of March 2018 my sister has been placed on a duel lung transplant list. This could come at anytime, could be tomorrow, could be next year, I could even get the call while typing this. We don't know till we get that call. The recovery time for this surgery is far from easy or quick, It will take time, and money to get all the meds she will need to make a full recovery. My family and I are putting in as much money as we possibly can. If you can donate, please do, if you cant.. prayers and forwarding this message so that we can share my sisters story is just as powerful as money to us. I truly want this story to get out to the world.. We will be starting a IG and FB for my sister to update and she gets closer to her surgery. I want everyone to use social media to encourage her that all though this has been a tough battle that on the other side is what God has planned for her life. Her story is beyond inspiring and I want people to know.. Sarah, I love you more than words can say. You are truly amazing! I look up to you so much and I know you WILL beat this.
Love your brother,
Josh (Little Brother)
