Poppy’s Emergency Vet Bills

Spende geschützt
Hi everyone! I am trying to raise money to help cover some of my cat’s emergency room bills. My baby Poppy has been sick for a few weeks and so we’ve had multiple visits to vets, ERs, and vet hospitals.
I won’t go into too much detail but it started with her becoming incredibly ill overnight. After, she refused to eat and drink. After feeling better with medicine and time, we woke up this morning and she was once again horribly sick.
She has gotten many x-rays, scans, bloodwork, medicine, you name it. This began on 2/25.
Poppy is currently in the hospital awaiting more treatment.
Anything helps.

UPDATE as of 3/10
She has been admitted into the hospital once again. It seemed like she was finally getting back to her normal self as of last night, but I woke up this morning to find her incredibly sick once again. In 2 weeks we’ve racked up about $4.3k with little to no answers. Medications and prescription diets haven’t helped either. If you’re able to donate to the GoFundMe, words can’t describe how much it means to me. Or even sharing the link. I’ll update again when I have more answers, but she is currently starting more treatment and testing.
  • Poppy will be staying overnight. Today’s treatments and tests will be an additional $3.5k on top of the previous $3.8k we’ve accumulated. (4.3k was estimated with the amount I paid earlier today when I admitted her).

UPDATE as of 3/12
Poppy met with an internal medicine specialist this morning. Her intensities and GI track are really inflamed, but they aren’t finding any obvious blockage. They also found that nothing in her body is really “moving.” To sum it up, we’re finally on the right track though. She’s on different medication and we’ll have check-ins with the specialist a few times a week to make sure she’s moving in the right direction. I am truthfully SO scared I’m going to wake up to her sick once again (it’s been horrible when it happens) and that we’ll have to do another visit to the ER but I’m also hopeful.

UPDATE as of 3/15
We checked in with the internal medicine specialist yesterday morning and Poppy was TRULY her best yet. The vet was thrilled and we had a mini celebration over the phone. As of this morning, she was really healing.
I came home from work today to find that she has once again, lost control of her bowels. Incredibly heartbreaking to see.
It’s frustrating when ALL lab work and tests are coming back negative and normal.
Now we play the waiting game to see if she needs to be admitted once again.

UPDATE as of 3/20
Poppy had another episode last night. We will be meeting with another vet tomorrow. Incredibly discouraged at this time.
I stayed up all night with her as she laid next to me on towels and blankets, not having any control of her bowels. We had to swap them out every half hour to hour or so.
She has been experiencing severe constipation, so the lack of bowel control is because she is straining so hard to try and pass something but is unable to.
If you have any advice or have been through something similar with your pet, please message me. I cannot afford to continue treatments without any answers so time is ticking for us.
We’re unable to see the specialist again for THREE weeks. Their team has been updated with her lack of progress but no adjustments have been made at this time. Hoping her primary vet can find some kind of solution in the meantime.
