Welcome to my Olympic Sailing campaign as I compete all over the world in the coming four years to earn the birth for Canada in the Laser class and bring home a medal in Tokyo 2020.
Hailing from Ottawa, Ontario and representing the Birtannia Yacht Club I have spent my whole life on a boat starting from when I was two weeks old. Growing up I had no interest in toys and video games, I wanted ropes and anchors to play with. Starting my racing career at age 11 in the Optimist dinghy I quickly found my attatchemnt to the sport. Having completed my education at Queens university gaining a bachelor of science in Mathemitics my entire life is devoted to attaining sailing excellence.
The Laser is a fourteen foot dinghy with one sail and manned by a single person. Due to its simplicity and accesability it is a popular boat all over the world making it a strong class. With such a high level of competition racing is both physically demanding and mentally challenging and rewards experience.
My competetion now lies on the world stage competing in World Championships, World Cups, and Eurosaf events. While I have the capability and passion in order to excell at this level, funding will be the limiting factor. The money raised here will go directly to ensure my attendance at major regattas and training camps, to equipment, and coaching. Every dollar raised will have a impact on my performance.
The amount I have set out to raise is what will start me through the next six months. This includes the peak of my calendar with the World Championships in Neuevo Vallarta, Mexico. For this I have spent the month prior to the event training with a top group of international sailors and a world class coach to ensure my best performance at the event.
While Tokyo 2020 may seem far away it will require my full effort everyday from now until then to guarantee my selection and medaling at the games
I will use this page over the next four years as a center for updates on training, regattas, and fitness.
Your support in whatever capacity will be the difference maker in my dream. I thank you for your interest and support in my campaign.
