As many of you may know my dad (Robert Way) was involved in a motorcycle accident on Sunday April 24th. From what we know so far he was clipped by a large pick up truck merging into his lane which caused him to loose control and go down. The pick up truck fled the scene on the northbound 405 leaving my dad in bad condition. Luckily a witness stopped and called for help.
Update: My dad has suffered from bleeding in the brain, skull fractures, broken left ribs, colapsed left lung, broken right shoulder, a complete break of his left clavicle. He has C-1 fracture in his neck. His left shin bones are in pieces which will require surgery as soon as the swelling goes down. He is still induced in a medical coma so his brain can heal. They are hoping to wake him up in the next few days.
My dad does have health insurance which is great but he will still be left with expensive co pays and deductibles. He is not going to be able to go back to work most likely for a few months with what the doctors say. In the meantime I post this fundraiser for any help to get him through these next few months.
All of you who know my dad he was the most caring, generous and funny man around. I know he will one day get back to the person he was but he is going to need a little help. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and I will update everyone as things unfold.
