Lily with aspergillus Fungal infection

Hello, my name is Ari I’m Lily’s mother and wanted to get her story out and on the world so maybe we can find help to continue her treatments. We are a family of four including me, my husband, casey(5 years old) and lily(3 years old) are our two little babies. On December of 2018 we took her to banfield pet hospital to do her routine check ups, doctors find her blood work suspicious and referred us to GCVS(Gulf Coast veterinary specialists) which is the only big pet hospital in Houston area. After a week of running labs and tests including biopsy, CT scan, ultrasound doctors diagnost her with fungal infection called aspergillosis which is very hard to treat. We have taken her to another hospital in sugerland for second opinion and their diagnosis were the same. Doctors mentioned some pet owners gave up the initial treatment due to cost but we were not going to be one because lily is our baby and you never give up on your family! She has been on IV infusion medication since then and we have spend over $28,000 so far just on her first month of treatment and she needs at least 6 months up to a year of continuous treatment to have chance to overcome this infection. She has lost 20 pounds so far but still staying strong beacause she knows you will never quit! You will never give up.
