Amelia Needs An Army

Donation protected
Amelia is a generous, kind, loving, hard working, intelligent, beautiful soul with a terrible illness. She wants to be a doctor and earned almost $400,000 of academic scholarships.

Statistics show that upwards of 60% of individuals who begin using drugs like heroin in their teens are deceased by their late 30s or early 40s. Amelia doesn’t want to be a statistic but she desperately needs our help.

Amelia has been struggling with addiction and has lapsed in sobriety. She has been working hard since January of this year to live a clean and sober life. One of the most difficult things for any person trying to maintain their recovery is contact with the people, places and things that remind you of prior use and that life. Her family and friends are working to offer Amelia an opportunity to live out of state for 6 or more months in a collegiate based program that treats the entire person. Insurance only covers a small portion of the cost as is the case so often with the appropriate treatment for a loved one.

Amelia is more than her addiction. She is a human being, child, grandchild, niece, sister and friend. Those who love her want to help her to realize what we all know - she is a gift, an amazing person who is loved and deserves a chance at a full, healthy life.

Sometimes in addiction recovery relapse can occur, even in those that seem to be doing well and working the program. It is the nature of the disease. Drug addiction is defined as a condition that is chronic and often relapsing. A relapse may just require the person to get back on track. It can also require more care from an alcohol or drug rehab facility. What you must understand is that when relapse occurs it is time for action to help your loved ones.

The negotiated price is $55,000 which doesn't include airfare and specialized therapies. Because the price is so deeply discounted, they need $24,500 up front to enter the program. The remainder is due within 90 days.

Please be a part of getting Amelia back to the life she wants to live. She needs an army.
