Fundraiser for The Figueroa Family

Hi Everyone, I am starting this go fund me fundraiser for my younger sister Luz Figueroa. Honestly I know if Luz knew I was doing this fundraiser she would not approve. My sister is a person that loves to give but she has a hard time accepting any help from anyone, but I am hoping that this fundraiser will help her and family in this very difficult economic time they are facing. In March, 2015 my sister was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Once she was diagnosed it was hospital stay after hospital stay, spine procedures after spine procedures to try and get rid of the pressure from the brain and the spine. My sister spent weeks at a time in the hospital and of coarse this meant no work for her. Her husband was left to take care of their 3 children and be in and out of the hospital with my sister. Which meant no work for him either. After dealing with all the small procedures my sister lost her peripheral vision in her left eye, so Doctors decided it was time to go ahead with brain surgery. My sister was scared and really kept hesitating on the surgery she got 2 and 3rd opinions but after much research she knew it was time to go through with it. So on July 30th, 2015 my sister underwent a 5 1/2 hour brain surgery and had a VP shunt installed into her brain which will remain in her brain permanently. 3 weeks after her first surgery my sister suffered a fall and then developed a hernia and the VP shunt moved out of place and had to undergo another surgery to fix the shunt. Which meant longer time of recovery and no work. At this point my sister's bills started to accumulate and her husband and her were falling behind on most of their bills. My sister returned to work earlier just to try and catch up on the bills but they are stressed out and too far behind to catch up without any help. Now that they are trying to get back on their feet they found another small cyst and vocal damage on my sisters vocal chords so 2 weeks ago she underwent another surgery. All these hospital stays and time off from work have caused them to lose their car, which was leased, and now they are really behind on rent, utilities and have over $100,000 in medical expenses. We are working with a social worker to help reduce the medical bills but her household bills are not caught up. Right now my sister and her husband are trying to pay rent and the most important bills first. In a few month's their oldest daughter will be graduating from high school but they don't have the money to pay for her senior due's or graduation stuff. I am hoping that you will consider blessing this wonderful and loving family with any amount possible. I hope that this fundraiser helps get them back on their feet or atleast helps them pay the bills that are past due.
