Saving Grandma's House

Dear Friends,
First off, thank you for taking the time to read about my grandma's situation. This is something that has been laid on my heart to do and I am not one that likes to ask for people's help; however, this has nothing to do with me, but everything to do with my sweet grandmother. Due to the recent flooding in the Houston area, my grandma fell victim to the record downfall. She has endured almost two feet of water in her home that my uncle bought and built for her. She has lost a significant amount of furniture (mostly antiques) and important keepsakes that may not have been valuable to us, but very much so to her. With the amount of water in the house, there are big repairs that need to be made including replacing drywall, wood paneling, insulation, and whatever else we may uncover along the way. She has been in good spirits and thankful for everyone's safety during the storms, but she has not comprehended the tragedy that has affected her. Yesterday, she tried to make a joke out of the situation by saying "I guess this is one way to declutter my house." Immediate sadness took over after that because no one should have to go through this type of situation to "declutter" your house. Again, thank you to those that are able to donate, but if you aren't, just pray. Pray that an 83 year old woman can go back to a normal life before the flood. Pray that she has enough strength to go through the headaches that are about to occur when trying to resolve the issues ahead. Pray that she is comforted and drawn closer to her family, friends, and most importantly, her Creator.
