It feels like the world has stopped, doesn’t it?
I love capturing images of families in times of happiness but that is a harder emotion to find with all that's happening in today's world. I can’t be up close and personal to photograph families and births as I usually do but it is still important that we document our families at this crazy time in our lives.
So, I am jumping on the bandwagon with dozens of other photographers around the country to bring a little happiness to our town through #TheFrontStepsProject. Started by Cara Soulia Photography in Needham, MA, local photographers donate their time to give 5-minute family portrait sessions to area residents in exchange for a donation to a local non-profit charity helping the community.
What is this Project? #TheFrontStepsProjectEvansGA
#TheFrontStepsProjectEvansGA is a way to highlight the faces of our neighbors during a time when we might not see each other at the grocery store, coffee shop, or gym. These images will mark this time of our lives but the BIGGER mission of the project is that participating will financially help the groups that help our community.
Over the next 2 weeks, I am offering to stop by your house to take a QUICK photo of your family OUTSIDE on the front steps of your home. There will be no hugs or handshakes from me as I will stay 8-feet away. Social distancing!! No front steps? The front yard will work great!
Our session will be very brief, just 5 minutes, and be VERY casual. This is not a typical get-dressed-up-and-pose-for-the-photographer session. Want to stay in your pajamas and slippers? Sounds good to me. Kids in mismatched clothes but you’re thrilled they got dressed? Fantastic!! Wearing your bike gear because you’re headed off to ride a trail in the nice weather? Love it! Let your family be themselves!!
Each family will receive 1 or 2 digital files from your session. In exchange, I am asking for you to make a good-faith donation to one of the local non-profits listed below after I have your session scheduled. A $50 donation is the suggested minimum, but donate what you can, larger or smaller. Donations stay local to help our community.

More information about Dog Networking Agents Corporation: To rescue homeless/abandoned dogs and cats from shelters and the community, provide medical care to animals and adopt them into homes, support spay and neutering to those families in need of support in this area. Through helping in these ways, we can help to lower the euthanizia rates in our local shelters which in turn helps animals, our local municipalities, and the community.
