Medical Expenses for Tonys Brain Tumor Surgery
Spende geschützt

Then, just days later, the biggest hit of all comes!
"You Have a Rather Large Brain Tumor...." The Neurosurgeon told us. The MRI Tony went in for a week prior to try to find out why he has lost hearing in his right ear.. results were unexpected... and devastating.
An Acoustic Neuroma.
"There are typically 3 courses of action with this type of tumor... However, you have 1. And you need the surgery sooner than later."
So May 22nd it is.. brain surgery.
And it comes with its own risks like permanent hearing loss, hydrocephalus and facial paralysis..
But leaving the tumor to grow is not an option, as it is already very large and would eventually be fatal.
The level of shock, disbelief and fear, could not be overstated. Here we are, a family celebrating the addition of it's newest member, and then this.
As the main wage earner in the house and with an incredible number of liabilities we incurred, just to get through the past couple years, the thought of being out of work for 2 or more months is weighing heavily on us, to say the very least. Also the portion of the surgical bill we are financially responsible for is shockingly, quite large, even with some of the best insurance he could have. We've searched for where we could tighten up the money we have going out, but our family already runs a VERY tight budget, as there are now eight of us.
We are not and never have been the type who would ask anything of anyone... anyone who knows me knows I DON'T ask for help, ever.. But I feel as if we have nowhere else to turn... This time we are asking for and really need help from our friends. Anything you are able to spare. Talk to your friends, your family and your co-workers. Please...Tell them our story and ask if they are able to help at all. Even small amounts can add up to a lot, if we can get enough people to come together, chip in and help.
We are only hoping to raise enough to pay our portion of the hospital bill, as it is more than I can even wrap my head around. I know it sounds like alot, and it is!.. with the surgery, time in the ICU, hospital recovery and then at least 2 months of rehab... that's alot of time out of work, and Tony already used up almost all his earned time in Feb.. the rent, household bill's and food for the children... along with childcare and hotel stays and related expenses for me to be in Boston for a few days, will just work itself out.
Thank you so much to all of our friends and family, and even those who we don"t know but decide to reach out and help.
Thank You!
