RACE FOR A CURE for CYSTIC FIBROSIS
In 2013 I will be running for a great cause as well as one of my best friends. Starting with the Charleston Half Marathon in January, I will be running at least one 1/2 marathon per month while raising money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis.
This is where you come in! As I take on this challenge over the next 12 months, I will be raising donations for each race. At the end of the year, I will be donating 100% of all funds raised to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Wait, there's more! Along with funding research for CF, 100% of your donations will also go towards putting me through pain!
For those of you who don't know him, one of my best friends, Jeff, lives with Cystic Fibrosis every day. Jeff is possibly one of the most passionate people I know "“ whether politics, the Phillies or which color of sour patch kids is the best. More importantly he is one of the most selfless and humble people I know, always looking for ways to help others. As Director of Programs and Grants for the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, Jeff works every day to provide opportunities for at risk youth across the country. I look at Jeff as a huge inspiration and hope that if I ever have to face adversity on a similar level, I could approach it with half the courage and class that he shows on a daily basis. Oh yea, he's a pretty cool guy to hang out with too.
I hope this adventure will inspire some of the people who follow it not just to run and exercise, but also to find out what you are passionate about. I hope I can entertain you with stories and photos if I can sucker you into reading my blog. I hope I become a healthier, happier, and and all-around better person. And I hope together we can help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Let the Adventure Begin....
