CARE for CHRISTY
Hi my name is Christy, after spending my life tied to the outside of a house and used for baby making, I was dumped in a kill shelter by my "humans." The excuse they used is that they could no longer care for me. How hard is it to maintain a chain? So I went from chained to homeless.
I was rescued by Pet Harbor Rescue and Referral, Inc., a non-profit organization that has ensured that I received the proper care. After my first visit to the vet, I was diagnosed having heart worm along with stump pyometra, a rare bacterial infection of the portion uterine body left behind after my ovariohysterectomy (spaying). It could have potentially been caused by poor surgical technique during my surgery.
Pet harbor Rescue and Referral has not only rescued me, but they have ensured that I am receiving proper care from my foster family and the vets. I know that the care was expensive, which is why I am asking for help to pay it forward to Pet Harbor Rescue to help cover the cost of my care.
My vet care included being catheterized, fluids, IV antibiotics, blood work, medication, and multiple vet visits. The good news is that I am recovering nicely and will be adoptable soon. The bad news is that the cost of my care has exceeded Pet Harbor’s available funds.
Please considered donating so that Pet Harbor can continue caring for other dogs such as myself.
