Help Bury My Wife's Father

Hello friends. I'm between a rock and a hard place at the moment but sometimes life just happens. I have a really hard time asking for help but please know that this is not for me directly. It's for my wife, Jamie, and her mother, Hazel. We've personally helped as much as possible but it just isn't enough.
My Wife's father, Danny, has been battling emphysema for several years. We knew he wasn't in the best of health but thought his situation was at least stable. After a fall this week things took a change for the worse. On Friday afternoon (4-15-16) we got a phone call with news that he wasn't doing well at all. Being a couple hours away, we rushed to see him in case anything happened. Later that night he lost his battle and passed away at home. It was unexpected and caught us all off guard.
Today is the day after. We've made funeral arrangements for Monday (4-18-16) to give him a proper goodbye. But that's where I'm asking for your help. As I said, it caught us all off guard. Jamie's Mother has been working two jobs to stay afloat and keep up with medical bills for as long as I've known her and simply doesn't have a way to pay for a funeral. I don't have the final document in front of me but the number we were told this morning was $8,128 if I recall correctly. I'll have an official amount when offices open on Monday. Jamie and I have emptied our emergency fund to put a down payment of $4,000 towards the cost and to get the process started. That will at least ensure that a funeral will take place. That also leaves roughly $4,128 to be paid. I'm not sure if the remainder of the balance is due on Monday or not. I have no clue.
I'm having a really hard time writing this right now as I hate asking for help and even more so considering the circumstances. I'm not asking for myself but for my wife and her mother to give a proper goodbye to their father and husband. I'm asking if there is anyone out there who could lend a helping hand at this time. If it were at all possible to be able to lift a little financial burden off of them and at least remove a tiny bit of stress from Hazel right now it would be appreciated much more than I can possibly express here.
