Emergency Responders Relief

My name is Duane Carpenter, I have lived and worked in Gonzales, La most of my life. I have worked with the Police Department here for approx 20 years and am currently working during this disaster, by the Grace of God my house is still dry but many co workers and friends have not been as fortunate. I am sure that everyone has seen the catastrophic and devastating flooding in south Louisiana by now. Thousands of people have been rescued and thousands more are still waiting to be rescued, some cities have been wiped out and will be a total loss.
This EMERGENCY FUND is being created to raise IMMEDIATE funds to help all of our emergency service workers who have been affected by this historic and horrific flood. I'm sure the cost of the destruction will be in the billions. Sadly, Several deaths have already been confirmed with more expected. The funds will be withdrawn and used to buy those items needed to our fell or Emergency Workers. We will also provide them with money that they may need for lodging or other immediate items.
The waters are still rising and we will have a very long road to recovery. 11 years ago we had Hurricane Katrina that devastated our friends in New Orleans. This disaster is being compared to Katrina without having the Hurricane.
We opened our homes, hearts and wallets to those affected then and hope they can help us now in some way no matter how small.
All funds raised will go to help with the immediate needs (Food, temporary shelter, clothing, etc) of our Emergency Service Workers who have lost everything while they have continued to be out here saving others and protecting the property of the people they serve.
We will also be providing meals and drinks to the Emergency service workers as the rescue and recovery efforts continue and will do so for some time. We will use some of the funds to provide meals and drinks for the 1st responders working in the field.
I know that so many people in the area are hurting and needing help. Please consider donating to this GoFund me account so we can keep assist our Emergency Responders who will have to remain on the front lines during these very difficult times. Any amount is appreciated.
