Justice for Ginger
On behalf of the Austin family we started this gofundme to help raise a Reward, to offer in exchange for information regarding her brutal killer.
Ginger broke out of her kennel on July 31, 2016 in Mardela Springs, Md., near NW Elementary School. She was a beautiful Red Labrador Retriever and was a total sweetheart. She was very gentle with everyone and wouldn't hurt a soul. Well, unfortunately, a cruel person hurt her. She was found dumped in a ditch with a gunshot wound through her heart. How anyone could commit such a heinous act is beyond comprehension..... As you can imagine, her family is completely devastated. Our community is devastated too and our hearts break for the Austin Family. We are are so sorry for the loss of Ginger and we hope that the person responsible for this horrible act of animal cruelty is found. Our beloved pets are our family.  They spend their lives loving unconditionally, giving us so much joy, emotional support and friendship. It's a beautiful bond and Ginger's life ended abruptly but not in vain. Please help support the efforts and spread the word so that there will be Justice for Ginger.  Thank you for your support and contributions, all funds will be directed to the Austin Family. https://m.facebook.com/doaoutfitters?fref=nf&ref=bookmarks&notif_t=share_comment
Joe Austin "Well this isn't the end of my memories of my sweetheart Ginger. Only the beginning I expect of good ones. I'll never feel her cold nose against my leg on a hot summers day. again but I won't forget it. I'll never feel her warmth again while she rests in my lap awaiting a silly snow goose on a cold winters morning that is begging to be shot but I'll never forget it. I'll never see her hesitation and anxiousness begging for us to shoot that white bastard in the sky but I'll never forget it. I'll never see her wagging that tail again as she proudly brings back her trophy whether it's a snow goose, Canada goose, sea duck, beautiful green head, majestic black duck or gorgeous wood duck drake. If a dog could ever smile she would be smiling then and prancing proudly. I'll never see her greet me with her tail wagging, her prancing happily side to side, cocking her ears and grinning ear to ear and shaking her ass because she could, but I'll never forget it. I'll never see her give birth again to gorgeous bundles of joy. Some call them puppies. We called them breathes of fresh air. I'll never feel her heavy front legs in my lap while I'm sitting in my recliner as she throws my arm up with her nose demanding I pet her because she deserves it she feels and wants affection now not later. She knew and I forgot there may not be a later.
Ok. I got it now. I thought I was the master. No, not at all. She was, and I'll never forget it. All I have now is memories but at least I have those and three of her puppies. All great dogs and all what I call a barn burner when it comes to retrieving. They're not Ginger but they are better than no hunting partner. Yeah, life goes on but it hurts. I don't fall in love with all my dogs but this one had my heart; hook, line and sinker. So did my girl Dusty. I guess it's just that way sometimes. I love all my dogs but there is occasionally that one that just steals your heart. And she sure did. Special thanks to Holloway Funeral Home for cremating my girl. Think I'll just go cry some more now."
