A Journey from Junk is a small two store boutique side by side located on Main Street in Historic Ellicott City, the shop is owned by Kelli Myers, also known as the "Junk Girl".   The shop was a dream of Kelli's for many many years, finally  8 years ago she made her dream come true opening her vintage shop that has turned into something much bigger than she had ever imagined.  We have the most loyal customers who are not just customers, they are our friends, they shop here because they love it here.    

On Saturday July 30th a flash flood rushed through our beautiful town and demolished most of the businesses along Main Street.  At first glimps it looked like we had been spared, our window displays in tacted and not any visual water damage but with a closer look and the moisture starting to cover the inside of the windows, it was obvious that that was not the case.  With no power and the water that remains inside what wasn't damaged will most likely be lost to mold and will not be able to be salvaged. Our building has also been deemed unsafe, so we do not know how long it will be before we can even go in and see if there is anything that can be saved.  We have a fabulous crew of "Junk Girls" that work extremely hard to help create a great shopping experience, we are family, this is as devistating to them as it is to Kelli and at this point they are without a job until we can get back on our feet. 

Our plan is to try to reopen in a temporary location until we know just exactly what we are facing and if our building will be able to be repaired.  Even though we have insurance, it does not cover flood damage so for us to be able to reopen, we will need to purchase all new inventory, that is why we are reaching out and asking our community and friends to help us rebuild.  Anything you can do will bring us  one step closer to reopening. We need this, our community needs this, and we will be strong.
