Help for Ukrainian refugees
Don protégé
Hi, my name is Daniel. I am starting this fundraising campaign for The Society for Children and Parents, a local charity from my hometown Timisoara - Romania, with an experience of over 25 year in working children and families.
My husband and I are supporting SCOP as they are one of the first charities that mobilised a network of volunteers to help vulnerable women and children arriving in Timis County, in a complete state of distress, after Russia invaded Ukraine. These frighten people need food, shelter, psychological and financial support. Some of them want to stay in Romania and start a new life, others will continue travelling to a safe place, or to a relative waiting for them somewhere in Europe. We can help them achieve safety.
SCOP brings together psychologists, social workers, nurses, GPs, pedagogues, students, and advocates to improve refugees' wellbeing. They connect local volunteers with children and women who left their brothers, fathers and grandfathers back home fighting for their country, freedom and future. All our efforts will go towards the healing of the trauma induced by war.
I am particularly moved by what is happening in Ukraine as my husband's grandparents were Ukrainian refugees after WW2. They lost everything in Ukraine once, only to have the chance to start a new life in Romania.
Thank you for your generosity.
