Last night on Wednesday the 16th while Brent and I were eating dinner in Wicker Park, someone just across the street from us broke his passenger-side window and stole his backpack. In it was his laptop and two hard drives containing his recent life's work in photography.
He called 311 and filed a police report and logged onto Find My Mac and did all the stuff ya gotta do. Now we wait to see if it turns up. But it likely won't.
Brent has always been there for me when times were (extremely) bad, now he needs a hand. If you can spare ten or twenty bucks, we can help him get at least a new laptop. In less than two weeks he's going to Oregon to start a new job as a forest fire firefighter, so this burden is *the last* thing he needs.
The fundraising goal is for the laptop, two hard drives, and the backpack, same as what's on the police report. Anything beyond the goal will contribute to repairs to the car window.
