Hie my name is Shepherd Murenje. I am married and have four children our children are 10, 9, 7 and 11months. I emmigrated to Canada in July 2014 from UK my family joined me in December 2014. l am a Heavy duty mechanic by proffesion and my wife is a nurse(mental health) by profession. l came into the country with a work visa. When we moved we made a decision that canada is going to be our new home. It was not an easy decision for us to make as we where uprooting our children who have only know Britain as their home, because we knew they will have a better life in Canada we made the move. We gave away everything we had in UK to started a new life here. We settled very well into our community and the children settled well in school.
In August 2015 when our visa expired the company l was working for applied for an extension and in the process documents that were required by CIC where for whatever reason where not included with the application resulting in the application being refused, this meant stopping working immediatly for both of us. The employer originally agreed to support an appeal and including the documentation they had left out but after a week they decided they were not going to support the appeal and terminated employment.
The only option that seemed available to us after weeksof research was applying for residence under Humanitarian and compassionate ground in February. After waiting for four months on the 12th of July CIC refused our application as we have not been able to work during the four months we were and are still unable to engage the services of a legal representative. We do not believe that our case was given a fair and thourough assessment before being refused.
Going back tothe UK means we have to reapply for Visa as we are not Citizens and we have been out of the country for so long, meaning we will have to go to Zimbabwe.
We are a christian family and our local church (BBC) has been amazing and looked after us since the begginning of our troubles.
Whatever help you able to give to engage the services of a legal representative will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
