Bryson's Medical Fund

On behalf of Bryson and Taylor Mabey we are asking for donations for Bryson's medical care and expenses.  On March 17, 2016 Bryson suffered a stroke brought on by an infection in his heart valve.  A piece of the infection broke off and traveled to his brain causing the stroke. Once his brain was stable,  they went forward with  heart valve replacement surgery to remove the infected and faulty valve.  While his recovery, he suffered a second more serious stroke.  In order to relieve the pressure in his brain and remove the blood or hemmorage there, they cut out a large piece of his skull.  In doing so they discovered a 2cm sized anuerism and were able to clip it.  As a result so far,  he has paralysis on his whole right side.  When he was stable enough and could breath on his own, the doctors recommended at least 30 days of "acute" rehabilitation which means he will still need regular medical care while working on his speech, occupational, and physical therapy.  On Thursday, April 21, he was able to leave the ICU and get started on that rehabilitation.  Now, this is where it gets tricky,  on April 1st, in the middle of all this, his company switched insurance companies and now the hospital he is at is considered "out of network" which means they will have to pay out of pocket medical expenses at a higher rate. His new insurance company has also said that they would only cover 15 days of his rehabiltation instead of the 30. We, as a family desire to have at least that much time for rehabilitation but would have to pay 3,000 to 5,000 a day for those extra 15 days. We are fortunate that he has some insurance and they are applying for any financial aid programs but this will be a long road to recovery and Bryson might surely lose his job as well as his insurance along with it. The money raised would be for uncovered medical and living expenses as both of them have been out of work on unpaid leave for over a month and will be, or at least Bryson will be, for up to a year or more.  This means so much to us because Bryson and Taylor have been married less than a year(10 months) both working and Bryson was going to school full time at Utah State and in an instant thier lives have been turned upside down and will be for a long while. We can't be sure about the long term effects so as you can imagine, the future seems a little scary as they face this adversity in thier lives.  They have had to move out of their apartment and he has had to put school and work on hold for an uncertain amount of time. The beautiful and positive side of this is thier love is so strong and it will come out even stronger for each other in the end. We are and would be forever grateful for any prayers and support for this beautiful couple.
