Help Bring Maisy Home
Hello!
Our names are Andrew and Courtney Young. We enjoy conversations over coffee, fellowship with family and friends, road trips (when we can!), building forts with our children, summer sun and lots and lots of music! Oh yeah, and we are high school sweethearts.
We married at age 19 and 20 and will be celebrating our eighth anniversary this coming August. Andrew and I have three precious biological children 5, 4 and 2 but adoption has been tugging at our heart strings long before we ever met! The Lord laid Africa on our hearts about five years ago and since then we have been "wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin', plannin' and dreamin' each night" about adopting internationally.
This past December 2012, we got a phone call that has flipped our world upside down... in an incredible way of course!
God has chosen US? To adopt Maisy (rhymes with Daisy and means: 'wished-for-child')? From Uganda? What!? Andrew and I feel so blessed and overjoyed that the Lord has selected us to be Maisy's mom and dad. It is our passion and hope to give her a forever family and a promising future.
We are already Home Study approved but as the paper work piles up and the reality of traveling in the next few months sets in, so does the daunting "money factor."
Andrew and I have been fundraising for four years and thanks to the support of family and friends, we have been able to pay for our Home Study and all government related paper work up until now.
As we look ahead, the main financial help needed is for airfare as well as court and government charges while overseas. We are unbelievably thankful for your support whether it be by prayer, financially or both!
