My Volunteer Trip

Hello everyone,

As some of you may know, I have decided to spend my February reading week helping in anyway that I can. Starting on February 17, 2018 I will be spending a total of 8 days in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic.

During this time I will be volunteering and spending time with disadvantaged children. I will primarily be teaching the children English. I will be creating lesson plans to engage the children in learning.

I have been fortunate enough to learn about this trip through my school, Algonquin College. Algonquin volunteers through an organization called Outreach 360.

Volunteering abroad is something I have always wanted to do. I am extremely excited to meet the children I will be working with, as well as exploring the city of Monte Cristi.

However, there are of course many expenses to cover while travelling and volunteering abroad. 

I would be very grateful for any contributions towards my fees. Even a simple share of my donation page can be a huge help. Anything helps.

I will also be making an effort to raise money through things such as bake sales, bottle drives, etc.

A lot of expense deadlines are quickly approaching.
