Around 5:25 pm Saturday afternoon, LAFD, LAPD and CHP responded to a traffic accident on Laurel Canyon Blvd @ 118 Freeway. One vehicle was overturned with 2 people inside. The vehicle came off the transition road from the n/b 5 Freeway to the e/b 118 Freeway and landed upside down on Laurel Canyon Blvd. One passenger was declared dead at the scene, the other occupant was transported by Paramedics in critical condition to Holy Cross Trauma Center. The accident is being investigated by Altadena CHP. Laurel Canyon Blvd will be shut down in both directions during the investigation. It was no clear whether alcohol or drugs contributed to this crash
