We, Jeffrey's family, are reaching out to you because of the difficult situation in which we find ourselves.

On December 23, 2012, our loving brother and son, Jeffrey V., was wrongfully accused of a crime.  A victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, he has been overcharged and his bail is extremely high.  We love Jeffrey very much and want nothing more than to have him come home to be with his parents, sisters, son, and a daughter that will be born in May.

Jeffrey is not the monster the State would have you believe; the picture they have painted is meant to justify their ridiculous charges and bail.  He is a caring father to Joshua, a five-year-old boy that needs him.  He is a loving boyfriend to a girlfriend that is expecting his child.  And anyone that has come into contact with him, knows his struggle and how much of caring of person he is.

The facts of the case cannot be discussed on this page, but, for this, Jeffrey's charges are excessive and the bail is outrageous.  The reason why, is that in order to pressure defendants to plea bargain, prosecutor will bring higher charges than deserved, and bail is made unaffordable.  Faced with the possibility of spending years in jail waiting for their trial, the wrongfully accused are forced to give in and say they are guilty, so that they can get out of jail.

In these difficult times, we are desperately asking for your help. Any donation, no matter the amount, would be greatly appreciated.  Our goal is to bring Jeffrey home before May, so that he may be present at the birth of his daughter.
