Ecuadorian Father living with ALS

Donation protected

Victor Osvaldo Urgiles Rivas (also known as Cocolito) was diagnosed with ALS in August 2015.  Within each month afterwards, the disease began changing different aspects of his life. First, it took a big hit for him mentality and affected his family as they had a hard time accepting the reality of this disease. From there, Coco had to give up his job because he could no longer feel certain parts of his body. Slowly the disease impaired him from completing daily tasks like eating, using the restroom and being able to get dressed. As this disease continued to impair him, his wife Carmen needed to quit her job to attend to his basic needs. This also caused his loved ones including his older son Alex to assist. Not being able to work caused a huge need for monetary assistance as health insurance could only cover so much. Last week, Coco  was admitted into Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY. Unfortunately, the doctors believe that Coco doesn't have much time left. He isn't able to return to the comfort of his home and they are asking that he goes into a hospice. He has been in bed rest and he is only able to communicate via a computer device. With this device, he shared with his loved ones that his final wish is to be buried in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He does not want money, flowers or gifts but yet assistance to make this wish a reality.
With that being said, we are all reaching out to our loved ones, friends and family. We feel horrible having to ask for assistance but the transportation charges are expensive. If you are able to donate even the smallest amount it will make a difference to our loved one.

When Coco passes he will be leaving behind a wife, two sons ( age 10 & 23), sisters, brothers, mother, nieces, nephews and friends.

Coco will always be remembered as the person who loved his family, the "fun, young uncle", the soccer fanatic (Emelec fan)  and amazing coach.

If you aren't able to donate, please help us spread the word since we don't know how much time he has left.

- Love, life , laugh & enjoy every moment in life. Take it from us, you never know when a loved oned will be taken away from you.

Él no quiere dinero, flores o regalos.
