Elma Blint's got heart and she has been an inspiration to many, including her beautiful sons Tyler and Kyle, and we are all so blessed and grateful to have her.
When Elma learned last week that her heart health was compromised, it shook her foundation and as she steaded herself for what was next I witnessed fortitude, grace and gratitude.
The photo above of a smiling Elma and her older son Tyler a few minutes after she was told that her LAD (left anterior descending artery that feeds blood to the front of her heart) was 99% blocked, speaks to the spirit of Elma Blint. "I am rich, I'm in the 1% and I'm going live 'til I'm 99!" Elma commented. That is our inspirational Elma Blint who always sees the positive and why her amazing heart kept on going. She is certainly rich in spirit and indeed this woman's got heart!
And it is for her beautiful spirited heart that I am reaching out to you all, the village, near and far to give what you can to lighten her enormous weight of medical expenses for hospitalization,medical procedures and on going medication.
Her smile,spirit and heart is big but Elma's financial load is heavy and we the village can help her to carry it. There is always strength in numbers and we hold each other up. After all, the village is a heart place :)
As the Jamaican sayings go "every mikkle mek a mukkle" and "one one cocoa full basket." Every little adds up. No amount is too small. Hey, little can be the new big... Elma will certainly appreciate that :)
