I was elected to be a Pledged Delegate for Bernie Sanders from New Mexico at the National Convention in Phildelphia, July 25 - 28, and would appreciate some assistance to cover a portion of the expenses for travel, accommodations (delegates have to stay in an expensive hotel next to the convention), food and other fees required for my service in this capacity.
As a member of the Leadership Team of "Santa Fe for Bernie" since July 2015, I brought an enthusiastic spirit to our local campaign, initiating, organizing and promoting many events including monthly organizational meetings, debate-watch gatherings, phone-banking, Bernie flash mobs, the national campaign’s "Hispanic Outreach" meeting, a “Concert for Bernie” fundraiser, the "Quilting for Bernie” project & video and a "Create Your Own Bernie Yard Sign” event.
I intend to be a firm, vibrant and effective voice at the convention to promote the progressive ideals and platform of this campaign.
I was raised with a sense of civic responsibility and inspired by a personal ancestry of leadership in the fight for freedom and equality in this country including a signer of the Declaration of Independence, heroes of the American Revolution & Civil War and an activist in the women’s suffrage movement. I have been politically active on past Democratic Party campaigns, “Occupy” actions and numerous environmental and social justice causes both locally as well as with international organizations such as Bioneers, Pachamama Alliance, 350.org and V-Day.
Working as a producer / production manager of international film & television projects as well as local arts and community events in New Mexico for over 25 years, I am well experienced in negotiation, planning and management with a diversity of people and circumstances. Furthermore, I love bringing people together to work on a common cause.
