Mark was Diagnosed in 1997 with Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension. He currently is the longest living surviver on Flolan. He is a very active member of the PH community, from running the NM support groups, mentoring new patients and their families to speaking at the PHA conferences . He enjoys helping other people in the community in any way possible.
He was born in June 1960. He currently stays at home now and takes care of his youngest daughter, grandson, and all the household needs. He stays as active as possible. He maintains a positive outlook on his fight with PH with a great support team behind him. Including his wife Jeanette , son Mark , daughter Angelique, son-in-law Derek, youngest daughter Bryanna, and Grandson Dominic. He is also one of 12 siblings. And numerous friends throughout the United States.
Until June 10th Mark has fought through many different infections and came out on top. As of June 10th Mark was admitted into the medical intensive care unit at the Universery of New Mexico. He has been fighting a major infection that required him to be placed on a ventilator. His care requires either his wife or son to be with him 24 hours a day because of the pump he uses for the Flolan. His family lives over 50 minutes away so they have been staying in hotels and eating out every day. Once Mark begins to show improvement at the UNMH ICU the plan is the get him transported to Denver where his PH Doctor is located. To continue his rehabilitation to get him back to normal. This move will take his family to Denver with him.
We are asking for support to help Marks' family in this time of need with staying away from home both in NM and Denver and to help with the medical bills they will be faced with once Mark recovers. We are extremely greatful for any amount given. Please keep Mark in you thoughts and Prayers.
