Help The Homeless Access Soup Kitchens

Hi everyone, my name is Sydney Farrell, I am a grade 12 student at Malvern Collegiate Institute. In Toronto there are about 10,000 homeless people and roughly 20 soup kitchens and food banks. Although the soup kitchens and food banks are spread across the city it is still hard for some homeless people to access them. They are spending about $10 a week on the transportation to get themselves there and back, most choose not to spend this money because they would rather save it for shelter, clothes, or healthcare. This results in food insecurity; not knowing when they will be able to eat their next meal it could be hours or it could be days. I have created this GoFundMe for your help in collecting money to provide bus fare and Tim Horton gift cards to give out. Each homeless person will be receiving six sufficient funds for 6 separate trips on the TTC, and it will help them save the money they have earned. I will also be giving them a $10 gift card to Tim Hortons, this will allow them to purchase about four plain bagels with butter, and a couple coffee’s. Half the money raised will be towards the gift cards and the other half towards the TTC fare. This is all non-profit and I will NOT be keeping any money. I will be dispersing the TTC fare and gift cards weekly. Every Wednesday I will take the funds that have been donated and purchase the TTC fare and gift cards. By donating to this cause you will be helping save a persons life, they will be able to get the nutrition that they need, and that we take for granted. You will be helping them have access to the street car to get to different locations, because they might not be able to walk there from the lack of health care, sleep, and nutrition they face.
