Spende geschützt
On February 8th, 2009 - we lost a very special friend, Andrew Atoui. Since then, family and friends have tried to repair this extremely large hole in our hearts. For some, the process has taken longer, or has been harder over time; however, I am sure we all find comfort in his memory and can sincerely cherish the time we shared with our dear friend.
What is this GoFundMe all about? Well... several years ago, I reached out to the City of Burnaby and Deer Lake Park. And, after years of waiting, my request is next in line to be approved!
Deer Lake is a sureal location that often reminds me of Andrew and brings me great comfort. Moreover; little did I know, this place also offers the same comfort to Andrew's family and several other friends who miss Andrew dearly. What an exceptional coincidence!
So, in order to get a Memorial Bench at Deer Lake, though, costs a minimum of $3,000. Which is why I am reaching out to the online community for assistance. I'm sure we could all use a space to reminisce, warm our hearts, and find comfort that Andrew will remain a treasure among the beauty of Deer Lake Park. And, if you didn't know Andrew - I assure you that contributing even as little as $1.00 will mean the world to the people Andrew touched in his short 23 years.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you in advance for supporting this cause - even if it is just a simple share via Facebook or other social media.
Once I can raise enough money for Andrew's Memorial Bench and receive word as to when the bench will be installed at Deer lake, I would like to extend invitations to the "Grand Reveal". This will be an opportunity for us all to get together and thank each other for sharing in Andrew's memory.
I will also be consulting with Andrew's family to be sure they are comfortable with what the custom bench plaque reads, so please stay tuned. I would, however, like to integrate Andrew's infamous quote: "The Journey Is The Destination."
Thank you again,
Sandy Arseneault
