HALF THE HEART TWICE THE FIGHT!
In February at our 20 week screening we received devastating news. Our baby boy (Justin Jr.) that we are expecting on June 20th has a very serious Congenital Heart Defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). This means that our baby Justin Jr. will be born with only half of a heart. Due to the seriousness of baby Justin's condition he will have to be delivered at the Children's Hospital Colorado. We are currently relocated in Denver, Colorado for an undetermined amount of time. We have had to be here 3 weeks before baby Justin is due, and will stay here for an unknown amount of time after baby Justin is born. In order for baby Justin to survive he will have to have at least 3 major open heart surgeries before he is 3 years old. The first and most critical surgery will take place within the first week of baby Justin's life. During baby Justin's medical procedures and recovery medical bills, traveling expenses, and everyday living expenses will be piling up and money will be extremely tight.
