John’s Heart Transplant

John is preparing to have a heart transplant in the upcoming months. He has been supported by a Left Ventricular Assist Device since March of 2017. He began having electrical issues with the pump in May which have led to him needing a heart transplant sooner than anticipated.

Since having his LVAD he has been able to work full time, volunteer through Rotary to support his community and had a healthy daughter, Dylan now just under 2 with his wife Kathryn.

Currently John is a status 3 on the transplant list and will remain working and spending as much time with his family over the next 30 days, hoping to receive the call for a heart during this time. After this period he will go to the hospital where he will continue to wait for a heart as a status 2 and continue to recover following his transplant in the twin cities until he is cleared to return home. During the wait time he will be separated from his family as the current visitor policy does not allow children under 5 to visit the hospital.

They are prepared at any moment to receive the life saving call that a heart is available for John. The purpose of the gofundme is to support the following expenses; medical costs, lost wages, lodging and travel expenses.

This is an incredible opportunity for this young family that also comes with a significant amount of stressors. We are asking for any support. Prayers and positivity included as John continues this journey toward a heart transplant and a second chance at life.
