Help Destiny aan een rolstoelbus!

Hallo allemaal,
Ik wil mij graag voorstellen. Ik ben Mariska, moeder van Destiny ( 10 jaar oud ). Wij willen graag een rolstoelbus voor Destiny, zodat ze nog heerlijk kan genieten van alle uitstapjes. Wij hebben nu een aangepast autostoeltje in onze auto, maar hier past Destiny echt niet meer in. Ik zal Destiny haar levensverhaal even kort uitleggen:
Destiny is als een gezonde baby geboren. Echter toen zij 4 maanden oud was kreeg zij epilepsie en belande ze hierdoor in het Wkz Utrecht. In het ziekenhuis kregen de artsen haar epilepsie niet onder controle en wisten ze ook niet goed wat Destiny had. Ze dachten aan het syndroom van West. Toen Destiny 8 maanden oud was en nog steeds in het Wkz lag, kwam ze in een status epilepticus terecht waar zij ook niet uitkwam. Ze werd in een coma gebracht en belandde op de IC. De artsen stonden met hun rug tegen de muur en wisten niet hoe ze Destiny uit de status moesten krijgen. Geen enkel medicijn werkte. We begonnen met een ketogeen dieet en na 3 weken, begon de epilepsie gelukkig iets af te nemen. Destiny had om het half uur een epileptische aanval. Elke week nam de epilepsie wat af en na 10 maanden in het Wkz te hebben gelegen, mocht Destiny eindelijk mee naar huis. Nog steeds wel met veel epilepsie.
Toen Destiny 4 jaar oud was, kregen we na veel onderzoek eindelijk te weten wat zij heeft.
Destiny heeft het scn8a-syndroom. Destiny kan niet praten, zitten, lopen of zelfstandig eten. Ze is 100% afhankelijk van mij. Ze is een super vrolijke meid! Ze lacht altijd en vindt het heerlijk om te wandelen of een dagje weg te gaan! Daarom willen we graag hulp om een rolstoelbus bij elkaar te krijgen voor Destiny, zodat ze heerlijk kan blijven genieten van alle uitstapjes en haar wereldje wat groter maakt!

Destiny was born a healthy baby. However, when she was 4 months old she developed epilepsy and ended up in the Wkz Utrecht. In the hospital. The doctors couldn’t get her epilepsy under control and they didn’t really know what Destiny had. They thought of West’s syndrome. When Destiny was 8 months old and still in the Wkz, she ended up in a status epilepticus which she did not get out either. She was put into a coma and ended up in the ICU. The doctors had their backs to the wall and didn’t know how to get Destiny out of status. Non of the medicine worked. We started on a ketogenic diet and after 3 weeks, fortunately the epilepsy started to diminish slightly. Destiny had epileptic seizures every half our. Every week the epilepsy decreased somewhat and after 10 months in the Wkz, Destiny was finally allowed to go home. Still with a lot of epilepsy.
When Destiny was 4 years old, after a lot of research, we finally got to know what she has. Destiny has SCN8A syndrome. She cannot talk, sit, walk or eat independently and rely solely on me.
She is a happy girl! She is always smiling and loves to go for a walk or go out! That is why we want help by purchasing a wheelchair bus for Destiny, so she can continue to enjoy all the trips and make her world a little bigger!
