Stiltz family house fund

Tldr: too many obstacles and expenses for us to cover are causing problems with land development for house. I realize we likely won’t reach our goal. We definitely won’t if I don’t ask. ———————————————————— Hey everyone, due to a number of setbacks, the money we had set aside for having the house placed on the land is no longer sufficient to the task. While obtaining financing, the bank failed to reserve the land we initially chose, and it sold before we could secure it. Our next option for land was $11,000 more than the original plot. Because of staffing issues at various offices due to the pandemic, our closing took 3 months longer than initially projected. During that time, we have had to stay in temporary housing, which was a much larger expense than we originally planned. I estimate it was about $4,000 more than planned. In addition, during the wait, both of our vehicles broke down, and while one is now running, we are still trying to get the second car repaired. I estimate another $600 for that repair. During this last month, Bryan’s workplace was shut down for a time, and then we ended up getting covid. Missed work at a new job means short paychecks. I am still unable to work, and still waiting on the result from my disability hearing. Until then, my only financial contribution is the small amount I make selling off my dwindling inventory in my etsy store. I know we have received so much help already these last few years. I wish I didn’t have to ask for more. There are so many people in need right now. If you cannot donate, please don’t stress about it. If you can, we will be so grateful. Thank you ——————————————————————— I’m concerned with the new gofundme that people might think that we are being irresponsible with money, or just not handling it well. I’m worried that because we have asked before, very few are willing to share the gofundme. We have been careful. We have worked hard. We live frugally. I want to give some more detail about why we have had such a hard time of late. We have not been careless with our money. We have sold almost everything of value to stay afloat. We were very responsible with the planning for this move. We set aside plenty of money to cover the cost of land development. Miscommunications and delays caused our funds to run out faster than anticipated. Our land cost $11,000 more than originally planned. Add to that the loss of funds due to being ill with Covid-19, and we are out of resources. I know everyone has negative events in their lives, and we were prepared for a few problems. The last five years have piled them on. Off the top of my head(in no particular order), we have dealt with: •Breast biopsy •Lost job •Hit and run wreck (cops let him go, then he killed his wife and himself), we had to rent a car for the two weeks it took to get our car back •Onset neverending migraine october 2015. Still going •2 MRIs (uninsured)($3000+ each) •Father died •Grandmother died •Father buried 6 months after death (military ceremony) •Uncle died •Aunt died •another Grandmother died •Husband blood clot •Husb left job due to mental health •Both dogs of approximately 15 years died in past year •Sold home of 15 years due to expense •Business dying due to health issues •Filed for and denied disability •Appealed and denied disability •Judicial hearing for disability •Left security job due to death threats from other employee •Left warehouse job due to panic attacks •Heart issues - still not fully diagnosed (no insurance)($10,000 E.R. bill) •2 root canals (no insurance) •Infected tooth pulled •Return of carpal tunnel symptoms •Major business project failed •Both cars died - one still down •2 near-foreclosures •Pneumonia 3 times •Started a move to the point of putting earnest money on a house, move fell through •Job loss due to mental health •Torn ligament in ankle •Personal item I cannot mention (major traumatic event) •Sold book collection •Sold video and game collections •Sold business equipment •Hail damage to roof and fence-replaced roof, repaired parts of fence •Mental health crisis care •Diagnosed with major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder •Counseling for ptsd - husband •Significant deterioration in my health due to psoriatic arthritis, heart issues, worsening episodes of severe muscle weakness, and chronic intractible migraine w/aura Some of this is trauma, some is expense, some both. There is more than this. These are the ones I could think of in a few minutes. There were also the usual issues like minor to moderate car and home repairs, flu, colds, sick pets, etc. We aren’t asking for help because we are foolish, lazy, or greedy. We just are at a point in our lives where we aren’t able to catch up. If you’ve read this far, thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to listen.
