Lyric Metroplos Fund

Lyric was in a car accident on Thursday this past week. She was riding with her friends when their car was struck by another vehicle. For those you who know Lyric, you know what a bright, positive, friendly and intelligent young woman she is. Lyric just finished her sophomore year of college and was anticipating a summer filled with working and spending time with friends. Lyric’s friends thankfully did not sustain any injuries from the accident, Lyric however experienced a broken hip, broken pelvis, and broken tail bone.

Our family is so grateful that Lyric is alert and pushing through this challenge with the same strength and determination she has always carried. Lyric spent multiple days in the Intensive Care Unit followed by close to a week on the trauma floor at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Her hospital stay will be followed by weeks in a rehabilitation facility where Lyric will receive physical therapy to retrain her body. Through the duration of this, Lyric’s mother Amy has stayed by her side supporting and encouraging her.

The care that Lyric has received and will continue to receive has taken a financial toll. Amy has needed to miss work and Lyric will be unable to work while she receives rehabilitation. Lyric is loved by so many. She is always quick to help out a friend or stranger. Her warm heart and kind smile have given her the ability to become fast friends with those she meets no matter where she is. We are hoping that her many friends and family will now be able to help out in any way they can.
