Malaria Awareness Program (MAP)
Donation protected
We are
proposing a second session of the Malaria Awareness Program (MAP). This
educational program was successfully conducted during the summer of 2012 in
HaMakuya, in the northeastern region of Limpopo Province, South Africa. Because
the region is still severely, yet unnecessarily, afflicted by malaria, it is
our hope to continue this project in HaMakuya and surrounding villages.
MAP is a sustainable public health mission based on the idea of community-level care. This project aims to educate the people of HaMakuya regarding the symptoms, modes of transmission, treatment, and most importantly, prevention of malaria. Your donation will help us with airfare, room and board, transportation and gas, and the salaries of 1 translator and 6 local peer educators for the year.
