I am fundraising for some very dear friends of mine, Robert and Tanesha Outterbridge, who lost both of their cars to an unfortunate accident on Friday, October 2, 2020.
Robert and Tanesha are a beautiful couple that are part of our Bible discussion family group. My wife and I love them deeply and was at a loss when we heard the news about there car early that morning (2 am). Apparently a young man lost control of his car after being shot and crashed into both of their cars parked on the street.
Robert is an obedient man of God, filled with compassion. He was one of the only people that morning that spoke with the young man, wanting to assist him in any way that he could prior to the police officers arriving on the scene. One of the police officers asked Robert to help remove the young man from the car. Robert learned the following day that this yound man passed away.
What also made this accident unfortunate was they were expecting their second child on October 5, 2020. When my wife and I were speaking with them that morning of the accident that was one of the first things we thought about and offered to loan them our car as long as they needed, since we were indoors most times due to Covid. They accepted!
We really didn't know how everything was going to work out for them regarding the cars and if the insurance comapnies were going to help, so we just prayed and hoped for the best. Well I learned yesterday from Robert that the insurance companies were not going to offer any financial assistance as the driver was not negligent since he was shot.
I really wanted to help but knew that I could not do this alone, so I remembered GoFundMe. I thought that this could be a great place to possibly raise enough money to replace both of their cars or at least one.
I have also included a link to the story as it made one of our local news channels here in Philadelphia.
I am so grateful and beyond words for any funds donated towards this cause. I pray that we can bless my two very dear friends, this family of four, with what they lost in that unfortunate accident on Friday, October 2, 2020.
