Hi! My name is Jake. I am a 7-year-old fawn boxer. I am a pretty popular guy if I do say so myself and well known for my sweet and happy disposition. I can bring a smile to everyone’s face with my little wiggly butt! I started off with a rough life but was very lucky to be rescued from deplorable conditions by my mom Lisa, when I was 6 months old. I had a pretty bad bowel obstruction and needed major surgery at the mere age of one. Fortunately, I pulled through it with my mom’s love and support.
I was living my playful life with mom and fur friends until I turned 6 and started to become lethargic. Mom was really worried and took me to my doctor. I was diagnosed with a rare adrenal gland cancer and needed another surgery! They also told us that I had thyroid cancer too. Yikes!! But mom wouldn’t give up- she loved me so much that she started me on chemo meds. Guess what?? I pulled through!! I was doing great!! I was having so much fun again; you would never know that I had two types of cancer. Unfortunately, last week I got into something I should not have and ate something that pierced my intestines. This caused septic fluid to leak into my abdomen. I needed emergency surgery to survive.
I have been in ICU for a week, had some complications and ended up having another emergency surgery. My mom’s friends and I are really worried about her. She is under so much stress and has done everything she could to save me. She has spent over $18,000 this week between my surgery and emergency care.
My mom always opens her home and heart to everyone, so we want to do something nice for her. We started this page so she can get some financial help. I am so lucky to have her, not many people would have done she did for me.
